Damage Not Registering In Match Again.

None of my damage is registering in match AGAIN. End of match screen only. It shouldn't take 90 damage to take down bright red components. This is 3 matches in a row now. On top of this it costs my entire team.

It's probably the well documented "disable Johnny Z damage" hack.

Am I that good my damage needs to be turned off really? My stats would be threatening farmed group queue stats without this no damage thing. Is that what this is about?

Seriously, dude, when you say this, everyone interprets it as "I missed constantly and refuse to admit it" because nobody else has this problem.

If it's so common, get video proof. Then you're not going to have "Man, he's terrible" being what goes into everyone's minds when you post these.

PGI ignores those threads and wont fix those things and wont comment either. Ever.

On the bright side it seems to working again. Very frustrating shooting bright red components full alphas multiple times and nothing. The glowing red CT of a Kodiak under 200 meters is hard to miss....

At the risk of sounding bad this has happened to me as well. Was in a Cheeta, came up behind an archer with no center rear armor. He was walking in a straight line so I did too aimed right at his center back, 90m or less, and I fired 6 small pulse into his back, 3 times, 108 damage, and he lived. Donno if it was lag or the game is broken but it happened.

According to well connected sources, servers were acting strange yesterday. ( And today and tomorrow... )

Personally had same experience, 3 alphas against Black Knight, no register. And no video.
Also something similar against Omega gun, cant tell if it was Clan PPCs or something else. Later PPCs worked normally again.

Well if your damage doesn't got registered on the server, how should a serversided damage-log show anything to proof your point?
The only way to show that you are telling the truth is to make a video. You said it has been 3 rounds in a row. Why not record the second or third? Instead making a thread without any proof is just useless.

PGI always says the have a hard time reproducing such issues and need videos to see that there is something wrong and be able to find out what.
(Although, like in your last thread, I'd say that is not a issue on the server side, but on your upload connection)

I'm sorry, but i have to admit it happened to me last night too. 2 games I dropped I had oddly high ping of 5-800 and some of my nova lasers flashed the Cross hair red but didn't see any flashes on paper doll.oddly too, that game I had a full 5-7 seconds of overheat damage when my mech was only at 80% heat so I'm thinking the ping played a part

Here's the thing.

I don't dispute that sometimes, hitreg is wonky and you'll have a shot that genuinely should have hit but inexplicably does not - particularly vs. a shutdown mech.

However, where I draw the line is "I can't do any damage at all"; if you want to make the case that all or most of your damage magically isn't registering, you really need to bring some proof to the table.

Otherwise it's a big circlejerk of "I did really badly in a couple matches, but it wasn't my fault!" reinforced by other people who where embarassed about doing really badly in their matches and latching on to an excuse.

Did you happen to notice a period of time when 'Mechs were walking in place? Or did they then subsequently teleport? During those times, net lag is in effect, and an A-bomb won't hurt your target 'cause he ain't really there anymore. He moved and your PC doesn't know it yet.

If the end of match screen shows the damage, which it does, then maybe the damage received by the other mech is logged also and it showing the other mech taking triple normal damage to go down would show something is wrong.

This is a common problem I have had to one degree or another since open beta. The end of match screen shows the damage but it doesn't do anything to mechs in game. Actually my guess is something like 10 to 25% is actually counted.

This problem is most common in faction play in the past, but it has happened numerous times over 3 years or so in regular play also. Including last night for the first few matches. Fairly common in quick play for the last year at times...

I have even seen it happen mid fight... Really. I knew this for sure because suddenly my streaks stopped doing damage to a running Locust. A well known pilot was piloting it to. Actually I'm not sure it was mid fight, but the locust was taking no damage and it seemed that way. Was giving chase in my Commando so I'm 100% sure he wasn't taking damage. One minute he is running for it, then he goes straight without turning for a while. Then goes invulnerable then turns and fights. Eating 3 Streak 2's and a medium laser the entire time. He walked away with nothing more than yellow or orange armor. If I remember right I ran out ammo on him. That's like 300ish damage.
